Chess at ESN

Chess:  ESN provides the opportunity to stretch young minds by introducing chess to all lower school students.  Those that are interested are given the chance to develop their skills during student choice lessons and even after school.

At school students of all ages have the opportunity to compete in ESN chess tournaments each year.  Winning is not the issue but doing ones best is.

Outside of school ESN has won the fourth grade national chess tournament a number of times and has attended Belarus chess competitions as  honorary guests.  One of our students has even competed in a European chess championship in Athens.

Students who wish to compete in local and national tournaments can do so on weekends under the guidance of  Vladimir P. international chess master from Belarus.  Junior DM,  Skollag  DM and Schack Fyra are some of the events that ESN students participate in.  Chess is fun and ESN gives its students the opportunity to learn the game, compete individually or together in a team with their classmates.
